Established in 2018, Downward Doe Farm is a small, family-owned farm. When entering this little slice of paradise, you'll immediately feel the love from their rescued dogs, rabbits, goats, quails, and roosters. The farm's mission is to provide the best possible care for these animals, and ensure no harm to comes to them. The requirements here are steep; feed, housing, and veterinary care become very expensive, very quickly.
With your support, Downward Doe Farm can continue this mission, and the operation can grow. Some of these animals have been plucked from the very edge of death and brought here, to their forever home, to live in peace. The need is great, but so is their ambition. This work will only continue.
Downward Doe uses organic practices whenever possible, provide healthy, diverse nutrition to their animal residents, and maintain a vegan lifestyle in their home.

"The Barnyard Sanctuary’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome farm animals that are displaced, abused, or whose caregivers are experiencing hardships, by providing them with a safe, loving and nurturing home. We will facilitate the adoption to families, who are able to provide a forever home. For residents who require special care, The Barnyard Sanctuary will provide a safe haven for the natural lifetime of the animal.
Since opening our doors, we have saved the lives of over 3,000 farm animals! Today, approximately 700 farm animals call us home. Our current location is a rental property of 15 acres, and while it has allowed us to do great things, we have continued to actively search for a FOREVER FARM to call our own. We have found the perfect location just 4 miles from where we are now! It is a 153-acre farm, which not only will allow us to provide sanctuary for more farm animals that are in desperate need, but will also allow us to become a self sustaining, working organic farm. What is so great about the new location, is it will allow us to significantly cut our current overhead expenses and run with greater efficiency. "

The sanctuary and rescue was officially opened in late 2017 and originally called “Farm Critter Haven” and located in EHT, NJ. It was a small backyard rescue that had blossomed into something much bigger with outstanding community support and friends. However, when the two co-founders parted ways in early 2019, the animals seeking refuge there needed saving yet again.
Marley Meadows Animal Sanctuary was created to continue the mission, passion, and promise as it started. In 2020 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic co-founders, Heather Ailie (former Farm Critter Haven co-founder) & Steven Podolsky, carefully moved everyone to a peaceful eight acre property and mission has been able to continue with love, patience, and persistence. Still located in NJ, we sought hard to find this gorgeous location for salvation and sanctuary and we cannot wait to welcome everyone else to the new Marley Meadows Animal Sanctuary.
Besides the wonderful new location and the comfort it brings to the rescued animals, so much has changed and we are proud of how much we have learned over the last few years together. We are always on the lookout for new team members to join our mission and to help with our newly developed motivational programs, too. So, please, don’t hesitate to contact us today to find out how you can join MMAS team and help rescued animals today!
